SeoScoreBot: what it is and how to stop it

If you opened this page from your server logs, you are in the right place. Here is why we visited your site and what to do if you would rather we did not.

How it identifies itself

SeoScoreBot/1.0 (+https://seoscore.lt/bot)

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 14; Mobile) SeoScoreBot/1.0 (+https://seoscore.lt/bot)

Why it came

Someone entered your domain on seoscore.lt and asked for a free SEO, GEO and AEO scan. That may have been you, your client, or someone comparing a few sites. The bot does not harvest email addresses, does not probe for vulnerabilities and does not copy content for training — it reads what Google reads: headings, structured data, links and speed.

Rules it follows

robots.txt is binding

A disallowed URL never enters the queue, so no request is ever made to it. It stays visible in the report as blocked, so the reader knows what we did not check.

Crawl-delay is honoured

If your robots.txt declares a delay, it becomes a real pause between request rounds, not a number in a report.

A scan is finite

A free scan fetches up to 30 pages, no deeper than three clicks from the entry URL. The same domain is scanned at most twice a day.

Utility pages are skipped

Login, cart and admin URLs never enter the queue. There is nothing to grade there, and they are the heaviest pages on most servers.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt. The next scan will read it and stop — you do not need to ask us separately.

User-agent: SeoScoreBot
Disallow: /

Once blocked, a scan of your site will come back empty. That is expected: we would rather show nothing than work around your rule.

If something is wrong

If the bot behaves differently from what is described here, or put load on your server, write to us and we will fix it: info@seoscore.lt
