What does "not enough data" mean in the Core Web Vitals report?
It means your site has too few real Chrome visitors. The Core Web Vitals assessment is based on CrUX — measurements from real people, not a lab test. Until there is enough traffic there will be no assessment, and no amount of page speed work changes that.
This is the most commonly confused part of the whole speed topic: PageSpeed shows two different things on one screen, and they are measured differently.
Lab and field
Lab — a test run right now, simulating a slow phone. It produces the 0 to 100 score. It is always available, even with zero visitors.
Field — measurements from real Chrome users over the last 28 days. It produces "Core Web Vitals assessment: Passed" or "Failed". It appears only when there is enough data.
A score of 100 alongside "not enough data" is not a contradiction. It simply means: technically fast, no real visitors yet.
How much is needed
Google does not publish an exact number. In practice people talk about a few hundred Chrome visits over 28 days for the same URL or origin.
Small sites often get origin-level data only, while individual pages stay unassessed. That is normal.
What to do meanwhile
Look at the lab metrics and fix those: LCP, TBT and CLS. Once traffic arrives, field data almost always mirrors what the lab showed — provided the lab was in order.
What not to do: buy traffic to produce data. The assessment is a consequence, not a goal.
