SPEED TEST

Why your site is slow and what it costs

We measure the PageSpeed score and Core Web Vitals, and more importantly show the specific files making the page slow. A number without an address changes nothing.

01

PageSpeed score

Measured through Google PageSpeed Insights — the same engine Google itself uses.

02

Core Web Vitals

LCP, CLS and INP separately. One combined score never says which of the three is failing.

03

Specific files

Which image, script or font costs the most — with its address, not with a tip.

04

Mobile measured apart

Google indexes the mobile version. A desktop score can be perfect while mobile is half that.

What the three Core Web Vitals mean

LCP is how long the largest visible element takes to appear — usually the first image or the heading. It is the closest number to what a person means by “it loads slowly”.

CLS measures jumping: how much content shifts while the page is still loading. The most common cause is one easy fix — an image with no width and height, which shoves the text down just as someone starts reading.

INP is the response to a click. It replaced the old FID and is stricter: it measures not the first interaction but the worst — so it is ruined by heavy scripts still working after the page looks ready.

What you get out of it

Speed is a confirmed Google ranking signal, but it is rarely decisive — it separates pages that are otherwise similar. Expecting a jump from twentieth place to first from speed alone has no basis.

The real benefit is on the other side. A slow page loses the visitor before the first sentence, and that loss shows up in enquiries rather than positions. Fix speed for people, and treat any ranking gain as a bonus.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a good PageSpeed score?

90 and above is green, 50–89 is middling, below 50 is poor. But the score is a summary: which of the three Core Web Vitals is failing, and why, matters more.

Why is my score different every time?

PageSpeed is a lab measurement and depends on load at the moment of testing. Watch the trend rather than one number; real visitor data lives in Search Console.

What should I fix first?

Images. On almost every site they are the largest part of the page, and compression plus a modern format gives the most for the least work.

Are Core Web Vitals enough?

No. They measure experience but say nothing about whether the page is indexed or answers the question. A fast page Google cannot see stays invisible.
